On Friday March 24th we ran our second GCSE Computer Science Theory day, with 20 teachers attending to learn about networks, sound and image representation, building robust programs and searching and sorting algorithms.

GarageBand for the Non-Musician, Monday 27th February 2017 £FREE
Join Burton Joyce Primary School’s music team and Marc Faulder (non-musician!) as they walk you through the features of GarageBand. GarageBand is a free Apple app for iPad, and with the starter guide from Apple Education you will learn how to use the app in a performance poetry project.
This workshop is suitable for KS2 and KS3 teachers.
Outdoor Learning: One Best Photo, Monday 20th March 2017 £FREE
Bring your wellies and waterproofs (or shorts and sun-hat hopefully) for this event. Our Early Learning team take you out to the woodland workshop to learn photograph skills. Using the free lesson plan ‘One Best Photo’ from Apple Distinguished Educator Marc Faulder, you will learn how to teach photography skills in an outdoor learning experience where children document the relationship between people, wildlife and timber. This project is supported by the Education Rangers at Sherwood Pines, you will also receive information on how to organise this free experience at their forest in Edwinstowe.
This workshop is suitable for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 teachers.

This cross-curricular event is your chance to find out more about using iPad across all subjects and age groups. Explore a whole range of a hands-on exhibitions giving your the instructions, planning and teacher-to-teacher advice on how to use apps in a whole host of ways to enhance learning.
This event is suitable for EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3 teachers and ICT Leaders.
